( closed ) nightmare

[ the flight back was okay. kinda awkward, still. they made it back home safely, though. it was night time by the time they returned to the apartment, and Aiko was so tired that she was put to bed almost immediately. Gumi had said she was a little tired and gone to her room soon after.

That was a lie. She was wide awake. Wide awake, and alone with her thoughts. After a few hours of laying in bed with no results whatsoever, Gumi got up. Maybe a snack or something would help.

She made her way to the kitchen as quietly as she could, so she didn't wake the other residents of the house, and looked around the kitchen for whatever she could find that seemed like it'd help. Among the hidden things, there was a bottle of sake.

Gumi stared long and hard at it. She'd gotten it a while back. It was being saved, just in case she needed it.

She only wondered for a few moments whether or not now was a good time before taking the bottle and a shot glass to her room. It didn't matter that the sake was warm. It was better than nothing.

She sat down in bed again once she got back to her room and downed a shot of the sake. And another.

Before she knew it, she was asleep.

Unfortunately, it may have been better for her if she'd stayed awake.

It was night time. The moon was full, and it was very bright ... Gumi didn't even need the city lights to see where she was going. She was walking the streets of Tokyo, not quite sure where she was going, only that she was going somewhere ... ]

[And there's Lily, walking down the other side of the street. Although it's more of dragging her feet along than walking.]

[ probably the worst question to ask. Gumi wasn't even sure why she was here. ]

[Lily just sort of stares at her and slowly begins to back away]

[- she suddenly breaks into a sprint, running past Gumi and down the sidewalk]

[She moves with surprising speed, right at Gumi. At first it may seem she was moving in for an embrace, but instead, she jams a knife that she had procured out of nowhere right below Gumi's ribs.]

This was from year one, right when the wound was fresh. [The knife is slowly twisted as she enunciates the last word.]
